The British Automatic Fire Sprinkler Association (BAFSA) has issued its 400th certificate for the Awareness of Automatic Fire Sprinkler Systems Continuing Professional Development (CPD) course, less than a year after its launch.
BAFSA developed the free online course to highlight the crucial role of automatic fire sprinklers in protecting people and property. The training covers system benefits, types, components, and how designs are adapted to different buildings, contents, and occupants.
In addition, BAFSA has been granted ABBE Direct Claims Status for delivering the ABBE Level 2 Certificate in Fire Sprinkler Installation. This recognition complements the existing Direct Claims Status already held by BAFSA’s preferred providers, Neath Port Talbot College and Llandrillo College.
Direct Claims Status allows accredited centres to issue certificates without waiting for an external quality assurance visit, reflecting consistent high standards of teaching, assessment, and internal quality assurance.
Ruth Oliver, BAFSA’s skills and qualifications advisor, praised the association’s tutors and assessors for maintaining rigorous standards that earned the recognition: “The industry should be proud that such robust assessment is in place, and that ABBE has recognised this achievement.”
