Sensitron presents the SMART 3 Blizzard, a refrigerant gas detector with SENSE wireless interface for non-classified areas.
Designed for refrigerant gas detection in non-classified areas, the SMART 3 Blizzard combines reliability, safety and technological innovation. It features an infrared sensor for accurate detection of major fluorinated gases, such as R32, R454B or R410A. Designed to meet the requirements of F-Gas regulations, the SMART 3 Blizzard is an effective solution to prevent invisible leaks that could have environmental and regulatory impact.
The innovative heart of the device is the SENSE wireless interface, developed by Sensitron, which enables smart, nonintrusive management of the equipment. Using this technology, operating parameters can be remotely accessed, calibration and maintenance can be performed, firmware can be updated, and test and certification reports can be downloaded, all in an intuitive and multilingual manner.
The device features a high-visibility multicolor LED ring, which signals the three levels of operational status, as well as a built-in buzzer for quick identification of alarms or faults. Power supply is 12-24 Vdc, and it comes standard with a 4-20 mA analog output, two relays and digital communication with the sensor for easy integration into existing monitoring systems.
SIL2-certified, the Blizzard SMART 3 is constructed of durable materials suitable for use in HVAC-R environments, refrigeration chambers and technical facilities where accurate refrigerant detection is critical. The gas detector SMART 3 Blizzard ensures accurate readings even in adverse environmental conditions, such as low temperatures or high humidity.
SMART 3 Blizzard – An example of application
In industrial refrigeration facilities, such as food storage centers or cold rooms for pharmaceutical logistics, the risk of refrigerant gas leakage is not only a threat to the environment, but also a regulatory issue. According to the European F-Gas Regulation, it is mandatory to effectively monitor any greenhouse gas leakage to reduce its impact and comply with the allowed thresholds.
The SMART 3 Blizzard, thanks to its SENSE interface, allows technical personnel to perform quick and comprehensive checks without having to physically access the detector. This is particularly advantageous in areas that are difficult to reach or where access is limited for operational reasons.
The device is also used in technical rooms of HVAC-R systems where refrigerant content is high, and where a leak could pose a health hazard or damage expensive components. The integrated alarm system, with visual and audible alarms, enables timely and targeted response, avoiding plant downtime and reducing maintenance costs.
