Intersec Exhibitor Profile: Lakeland Fire + Safety

Lakeland Fire + Safety showcases full head to toe protection uniting specialist brands to deliver integrated, high-performance PPE for today’s evolving fire services   Stand: SR I21  Webste: www.lakeland.com  Lakeland Fire + Safety is a consolidated force in firefighter protection, representing more than 40 years of development in high-performance PPE. What began as a specialist provider of industrial protective garments has evolved into a global fire protection portfolio with a clear mission to deliver reliable head-to-toe protection for every type of fire service.   This strategic transition under the Lakeland Fire + Safety brand reflects a long-term commitment to meeting the real conditions firefighters face. The company has expanded beyond its industrial heritage to assemble a unified, mission-driven ecosystem of products and capabilities. Visitors will see this full offering brought together through Lakeland’s integration of its specialist brands, including Eagle, Jolly, LHD, Pacific Helmets, and Veridian.   Lakeland’s evolution into a full-scope fire PPE provider has been shaped by a clear understanding that firefighters do not operate in isolated product categories. Modern incident response requires movement, endurance, heat management, situational awareness and long-duration comfort. Accordingly, Lakeland’s acquisitions have been aimed to assemble the precise capabilities needed to build a complete protective system.   Eagle Technical Products has brought advanced garment engineering and CE-approved designs suitable for the complex, compartment-driven firefighting seen across Europe and export markets. Pacific Helmets introduces a design philosophy centred on balance, stability and impact protection, with helmet platforms developed for structural, wildland, and tactical rescue operations. Jolly has added a specialist footwear range, built around long-duration comfort and ergonomic foot support. LHD expands Lakeland’s portfolio further with protective clothing solutions shaped by European and international performance standards and adds total care decontamination and repair services to enhance firefighter safety.   Together, these brands enable Lakeland Fire + Safety to deliver integrated ensembles designed to function as a cohesive system rather than individual components. Each brand retains its own design identity and regional expertise, while benefiting from shared research, supply chain strength and manufacturing capability across the Lakeland group.   The environments confronting today’s fire services continue to change rapidly. Structural fires represent only a fraction of modern callouts, yet crews must still carry full protective ensembles. Urban brigades face hybrid events such as wildland-urban interface fires, underground EV incidents and high-rise operations. These conditions place new demands on PPE that traditional insulation-heavy designs cannot always meet.   Lakeland’s product development strategy now centres on mobility, heat stress reduction and operational performance. Athletic-cut structural garments within the Lakeland and Eagle ranges are designed around body movement and reduced drag.    Across the sub-brands, similar principles are reflected. Pacific’s helmets incorporate design elements that improve weight distribution and reduce physical strain over long durations. Jolly’s footwear engineering focuses on energy return and stability to support firefighters during extended deployments. LHD’s and Veridian’s apparel brings tailored solutions for departments operating in intense compartment fire conditions.   One of Lakeland Fire + Safety’s strengths lies in its ability to integrate specialised brands while respecting the operational realities of different regions. It works across its international teams to ensure that products align with local requirements while benefiting from global research and development.   CE-certified designs from Eagle and LHD support European and Middle Eastern users, while Lakeland’s and Veridian’s NFPA-aligned designs focus on the North American and the growing global markets that are aligned with NFPA certification. Pacific Helmets and Jolly Boots serve global customers with models approved across multiple regulatory frameworks, providing adaptable solutions for diverse environments.   Lakeland Fire + Safety’s has progressed into a fully integrated fire protection provider capable of delivering a complete ensemble shaped around firefighter wellbeing, performance and protection. With continued investment in research, materials innovation and lifecycle care, Lakeland is positioning itself as a long-term partner to fire services worldwide.

Intersec Exhibitor Profile: Sense-WARE

Sense-WARE marks 25 years of innovating cost-effective flame detection, delivering certified Zone 2 and Safe Area solutions engineered for reliability, global deployment and long-term performance  Stand: 7-C09 Website:  sense-ware.com For nearly twenty-five years, Sense-WARE has built its reputation on designing accessible, reliable flame detection technologies for Zone 2 and Safe Area applications.   In a market long dominated by large multinational manufacturers and Zone 1 devices, the company has carved out a distinctive role: delivering high-quality detection without the cost burden associated with explosion-proof equipment.  Sense-WARE was founded in 2001 by flame detection specialist Jan Nijkamp, whose experience working with major detector brands exposed a clear market gap. At the time, no manufacturer offered an affordable, versatile test lamp suitable for use across a broad range of UV, IR, and UV/IR detectors. In response, Nijkamp developed the company’s first product, the T-229/4P Universal Test Lamp.   Engineered for Safe Area use and quickly adopted by the marine sector, the lamp remains a core part of Sense-WARE’s product line and continues to be widely relied upon today.  As the company grew, Nijkamp was joined by engineer Alfred Draijer, forming the technical partnership that would shape Sense-WARE’s product philosophy for the next two decades. Their combined expertise led the company to address a broader challenge within the industry: the lack of practical, cost-effective flame detection for onshore facilities that do not require Zone 1 protection.  In 2012, Sense-WARE introduced the 210 Series Flame Detectors, beginning with UV and UV/IR models, followed in 2015 by an IR3 detector. The range was designed specifically to meet the needs of Zone 2 and Safe Area installations, markets in which operators were previously forced to purchase higher-cost Zone 1 units simply because alternatives did not exist. All detectors underwent rigorous testing by international approval bodies including FM and ATEX, alongside multiple regional regulatory agencies. Today, the 210 Series forms the backbone of the company’s global offering and is installed across diverse sectors ranging from industrial manufacturing to logistics, energy, and warehousing.  A defining characteristic of Sense-WARE’s journey has been its commitment to independence. While many legacy flame detection brands have been absorbed into large multinational groups, Sense-WARE maintained its autonomy for over twenty years. Central to this stability was its long-standing partnership with Cimar Electronics, which has manufactured and tested all Sense-WARE flame detectors and test lamps since the company’s earliest days. This close collaboration allowed for tight control over quality while keeping production costs competitive; standards reinforced by ISO 9001 certification.  Such confidence in design and manufacturing enabled the company, in 2019, to take a significant step unique within this segment: extending its product warranty from three years to five. At the time, no comparable manufacturer offered anything similar, signalling a strong commitment to long-term reliability.  In recent years, Sense-WARE has expanded rapidly. The Asia Pacific region opened in 2019, followed by the Americas in 2021 and the Middle East in 2024. Following the retirement of Nijkamp and Draijer in 2023, Cimar Electronics acquired the company, bringing operations and engineering under one roof. This strengthened alignment has further supported product development, customer responsiveness, and Sense-WARE’s global presence.  Celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2026, Sense-WARE continues to position itself as a leading provider of Zone 2 and Safe Area flame detection technology.   Visit Sense-WARE at Intersec 2026, Booth 7-C09.

Intersec Exhibitor Profile: SRI

Inertec delivers environmentally neutral fire suppression for mission-critical facilities and certified performance to protect sensitive infrastructure without residue or environmental impact  Stand: Hall 7 G29 Website: SRI.com As the fire protection market increasingly prioritises environmental performance alongside technical capability, the Inertec Gas Suppression System from Steel Recon Industries has emerged as one of the leading clean agent alternatives for critical environments.   Built on naturally occurring inert gases and backed by more than five decades of SRI engineering experience, the system offers a modern approach to fire suppression that aligns with global sustainability expectations while maintaining the reliability required by mission critical facilities.  The foundation of the Inertec system lies in a straightforward scientific principle. By rapidly discharging a calculated quantity of inert gas into a protected enclosure, the system reduces oxygen to a level where combustion cannot be sustained. The fire is extinguished cleanly and efficiently without residue or secondary damage, making the technology particularly well suited to environments where sensitive electronic equipment or valuable assets may otherwise be harmed by traditional suppression methods.   The system uses gases already present in the atmosphere, including nitrogen, argon and blends of the two, ensuring that it carries zero ozone depletion potential, zero global warming potential and no atmospheric lifetime. In an era of heightened environmental scrutiny, these characteristics place Inertec among the most sustainable suppression solutions on the market.  In addition to its environmental credentials, the system offers clear operational advantages for facilities where uptime, asset protection and personnel safety are essential. It produces no fog or visibility impairment during discharge, generates no harmful by-products and is electrically non conductive, meaning it can be safely used around energised equipment. The gases used are non toxic at design concentrations, allowing the system to be deployed in occupied spaces without compromising safety.   These attributes make Inertec a strong fit for data centres, telecommunications hubs, museums, archives, control rooms and power generation facilities, as well as any site where the cost of fire related disruption is significant.  SRI has engineered Inertec as a complete and fully certified system. Approvals from UL, FM Global and other international authorities reinforce its suitability for global deployment. A key component of the system’s efficiency is its high capacity cylinder technology.   Inertec is available in both 200 bar and 300 bar configurations, with the 300 bar cylinders offered in 80 litre and 140 litre sizes certified under TPED. These higher pressure cylinders store more agent per vessel, enabling designers to protect larger spaces with fewer tanks and thereby reducing both installation footprint and overall project cost.  Supporting hardware is equally robust. Heavy duty discharge valves, precision pressure gauges, multiple activation options, high pressure hoses and carefully engineered nozzles all contribute to reliable system performance. The system can be configured with a Pressure Reducing Unit for an unregulated discharge or with a constant pressure regulator that maintains a stable outlet pressure regardless of cylinder pressure. The constant pressure option is particularly advantageous for installations using 300 bar cylinders as it simplifies pipework design and supports consistent agent flow.  For multi room facilities, SRI also offers UL and FM approved selector valve arrangements, allowing a single cylinder bank to protect several hazards. This approach maximises cost efficiency without compromising protection.  With its environmentally neutral agents, rigorous certification and highly engineered components, the Inertec Gas Suppression System delivers reliable, clean and future ready fire protection for the world’s most demanding environments.  At Intersec 2026 SRI will be at Stand 7, G29
