Flir Launches Next-Gen K-Series Cameras

Flir has introduced the next generation of its K-Series thermal imaging cameras, aimed at supporting firefighters throughout every phase of an emergency — from initial dispatch to final clean-up.

The new K75 and K85 models deliver high-resolution thermal imaging, intuitive operation, and seamless wireless connectivity. Designed to improve decision-making in fast-moving and hazardous environments, these new tools provide clarity and reliability in even the harshest firefighting conditions.

The K75 (320 × 240) and K85 (640 × 480) models replace several older cameras in the Flir range, streamlining the portfolio while enhancing performance. Each unit features a rugged pistol-grip design with three-button control, an IP67-rated housing, and 2-meter drop resistance, ensuring durability in demanding frontline operations.

A major upgrade is the introduction of single-range dynamic gain. This eliminates the need to switch between high and low gain modes during a mission — a step that previously risked missing critical thermal information or causing display lag. The result is smooth thermal visibility from -20 to 650°C with no interruptions or image freezing.

Wireless connectivity, via the Flir Responder App, supports pre-mission planning, live streaming, post-incident training, and seamless media downloads. This end-to-end digital integration transforms the thermal camera into a comprehensive operational tool.

New application-centric modes also align with key firefighting phases. A dedicated search mode offers colourisation between 80–200°C to quickly highlight fire sources. Fire attack operations benefit from uninterrupted imaging across the entire temperature range, while a new overhaul mode applies a red gradient to highlight hotspots during scene departure.

Back at the station, the cameras simplify decontamination with fewer sharp edges to trap soot or debris. Training and review are further supported through the app’s wireless media access.

Additional modes — including basic, high-heat, and white-hot — ensure crews can tailor visualisation to mission needs, environmental conditions, or individual preferences, including accessibility for colourblind users.

Each unit is supplied with dual batteries, charger, USB cable, carabiner strap, and lanyard, with options for vehicle-based charging and hard-case transport.

Built on over a decade of proven K-Series performance, the new K75 and K85 offer enhanced situational awareness, improved ergonomics, and a fully connected experience — helping firefighters see more, react faster, and stay safer.
