NFPA appoints new country manager to boost fire safety standards in Mexico

The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) has appointed Eurídice Ibarlucea J. as its new country manager for International Business Development in Mexico. With nearly two decades of experience in Mexico’s security and fire protection sectors, Ibarlucea will focus on strengthening partnerships and promoting the application of NFPA codes and standards across the country, enhancing safety protocols in both industrial and public spheres.

Ibarlucea brings an impressive background, having previously served as Vortex specialist country sales manager at Victaulic, where she achieved significant growth in sales and accounts, underscoring her dedication to public safety. Her extensive career includes pivotal roles at 3M Mexico and UTC Fire & Security Kidde de Mexico, where she further developed her expertise in fire protection and sales strategy. Currently serving as president of the Asociacion Mexicana de Proteccion contra Incendio (AMPCI), a position she assumed in 2023, Ibarlucea has been a staunch advocate for the implementation of robust fire protection standards and codes. Her contributions to the technical review of NFPA codes, translated for broader use across Latin America, reflect her commitment to improving safety through advanced practices.

Olga Caledonia, NFPA’s director of International Business Development, expressed her enthusiasm for Ibarlucea’s appointment, highlighting her comprehensive understanding of the Mexican market and her successful track record in leadership roles. Caledonia noted that Ibarlucea’s expertise will be pivotal in advancing NFPA’s mission to promote fire and life safety in Mexico.

In her new role, Ibarlucea, who assumed her position on October 22, will represent NFPA in conferences, engage with government and industry leaders, and identify strategic opportunities to further embed NFPA standards in Mexico’s fire and safety landscape. She emphasised her dedication to fostering collaboration across sectors and ensuring communities’ safety through rigorous adherence to NFPA codes and standards.

With academic qualifications from Instituto Politécnico Nacional and Universidad Panamericana, along with specialized training in fire protection systems, Ibarlucea is well-positioned to lead NFPA’s efforts in strengthening the Fire & Life Safety Ecosystem in Mexico.
