Magirus launches DRAGON X6 NEO

The new DRAGON X6 NEO – Maximum ARFF performance for airport fire brigades with powerful Euro 6 engines and the new Magirus Dynamic Edge design.

With travel volumes increasing again worldwide and passenger numbers rising after the coronavirus pandemic, airports are facing a growing challenge: greater safety. The fire department must be able to act even faster in an emergency, and this is where the new Magirus DRAGON X6 NEO comes in – the most powerful airport firefighting vehicle in its class.

The DRAGON X6 NEO, as a modern combustion vehicle, impresses with its exceptional driving performance. With a “2-engine strategy,” it accelerates to 80 km/h in less than 20 seconds, enabling emergency services to reach every corner of an airport in the shortest possible time. This impressive performance makes it the vehicle with the best driving characteristics on the market.

The new DRAGON X6 NEO not only presents itself with a completely revised front section that emphasizes the dynamic design but also impresses with a modern appearance that extends to the rear section. According to Thomas Hilse, CEO of Magirus, driver-friendliness has been significantly improved by the new EasyOperator human-machine interface (HMI) with a larger display. This gives the vehicle crew clear and easy access to all controls. “This HMI will be found in all Magirus product lines in the future,” says Hilse.

In addition, the integration of FleetConnect offers innovative fleet management options that ensure optimized coordination and maintenance of the emergency vehicles. The DRAGON X6 NEO meets the strict EURO VI emission standards and therefore offers not only maximum performance but also environmental friendliness and future-proofing.

In addition to exceptional driving performance, the DRAGON X6 NEO has been equipped with an electronic braking system and an electronic stability program to ensure safety and control in all conditions. Marc Kuntz, Director of Sales & Customer Service, comments: “The new design and innovations of the Dragon X6 Neo will be incorporated into the entire airfield firefighting vehicle family from the second quarter of 2025.”

The Magirus DRAGON X6 NEO is the epitome of a modern airport firefighting vehicle – powerful, fast, and future-proof. Thanks to its high performance, innovative technology, and environmentally friendly features, it sets new standards in firefighting and safety at airports worldwide.
