At the end of 2023 Cygnus announced the grand opening of its latest Technology & Training Centre (TTC) in Meriden, Birmingham.
This cutting-edge facility represents a significant step in our journey, reinforcing our dedication to leading the fire safety industry with innovative solutions. The Meriden TTC is set to be a hub for creative advancements in fire safety, as well as the new home of our expanded Cygnus Academy. This on-site, bespoke training program is designed for installers aiming to master SmartNet, the revolutionary EN 54 certified, completely wireless fire detection and alarm system.

Facility Highlights The Cygnus TTC boasts top-of-the-line facilities for testing, refining, and developing fire and safety solutions. It also features innovation spaces designed for collaborative efforts among our research and development and technical support teams.
Cygnus Certified Installer Program Our new Cygnus Academy training center offers a contemporary and well-equipped environment for installers to undergo SmartNet training and become Cygnus Certified Installers. The SmartNet course encompasses both theoretical and hands-on training, providing comprehensive knowledge of SmartNet technology and the skills needed for its successful installation.
The opening of a second Cygnus Academy location aligns with our goal to certify installers in SmartNet installation, making Meriden an accessible venue for all installers. This expansion not only supports our rapid growth but also contributes to local employment opportunities.
