Mutares completes acquisition of Magirus

Magirus GmbH announces that, effective 3 January 2025, full ownership of the company and its affiliates has been transferred from Iveco Group N.V. to Mutares SE & Co. KGaA. The transfer has been completed as planned, in line with the agreement announced on 13 March 2024. All Magirus business and service activities will continue as usual.

Thomas Hilse, who has successfully led Magirus since 2021 as President of the Firefighting Business Unit at Iveco Group N.V. (EXM: IVG), will play a pivotal role during the transition. Effective 4 January 2025, Hilse assumes the role of Interim CEO of Magirus GmbH, tasked with ensuring a seamless transfer of operations as the company transitions from Iveco Group to Mutares SE & Co. KGaA (ISIN: DE000A2NB650).

This transition marks a significant milestone for Magirus GmbH, as the company embarks on a new chapter under Mutares’ ownership. With extensive leadership experience at Iveco Group and a deep understanding of Magirus’ operations and the firefighting industry, Hilse is ideally positioned to guide the company through this critical period. His leadership has been instrumental in fostering innovation, operational efficiency, and strategic growth at Magirus, making him a key figure in ensuring a smooth transition to the new ownership structure.

In addition to Hilse’s leadership, Mutares restructuring expert Fatmir Veselaj will take on the role of Chief Restructuring Officer (CRO), leading the company’s transformation journey.

Thomas Hilse, Interim CEO of Magirus GmbH, stated: “We are welcoming Mutares as our new owner to fully explore the opportunities in the transformation of this great company. We look forward to the next 160 years in the history of our company, serving heroes around the globe. We are also pleased to welcome Fatmir Veselaj into our executive team. Fatmir has been instrumental in closing the transaction, and the entire management team is impressed with his transformation experience. He will be a great source of support to Magirus in the next phase to come.”

Johannes Laumann, CIO of Mutares, added: “We are thrilled that Thomas has accepted our offer to continue guiding Magirus GmbH through this important transition. His proven leadership and expertise will be invaluable as we work to integrate the company into Mutares and establish a strong foundation for the future.”
