At the international trade fair show Interschutz in Leipzig (GE), TenCate Protective Fabrics presented its multi layered fabric for fire fighter turn out gear.
TenCate Protective Fabrics supplies all the protective layers – called Millenia 450, at 450 grams per square metre – in this light weight TenCate Tecasystem™. That integrated protective system is the lightest on the international market which complies with European norm EN 469: 2005, level 2.
Marketing manager Martine Kok of TenCate Protective Fabrics EMEA explains: “Several fire departments requested TenCate to develop an extremely light and comfortable system that still manages to provide optimal protective and durable properties. In addition to fire fighting, emergency services are also called out to assist after traffic accidents or incidents involving hazardous substances, or to provide disaster relief. All this emergency response is offering different working conditions. And that demands multifunctional clothing that is light, comfortable and yet protective. And that is what we offer our clients”.
