For this year’s Interschutz in Leipzig the engineering team of Endress have developed some special innovations. The demand from rescue and fire services for Diesel generator sets has increased over the last few years. However, no manufacturer has been able to offer a silent and small-sized Diesel set with compact dimensions for use in fire trucks.
Following the company’s philosophy “More power from smaller volumes” Endress engineers have developed a generator set which is unique in its existing form. With 6kvA and minimal dimensions the generator is powered by a HATZ 1B50 engine and comes with the company own Duplex alternator. The set is also equipped with an automatic 1-click fuelling system. The generator can be fuelled either from the truck or an external tank without having to use a 3-way fuel cock.
Endress was the first company in the industry to develop and introduce a multifunctional control system – the E-MCS 3.0 – in fire truck gen sets which provides important optical information directly to the operator.
This year Endress has also collaborated with other leading companies in the rescue and fire truck industry e.g. Rosenbauer, Iveco Magirus and Schlingmann to develop a common standard for data transmission – FIRECAN. FIRECAN is a uniform data protocol to monitor and control all equipment components of a truck and provide important data to the control centre. FIRECAN is available for all Endress DIN generator sets immediately.
Maxdrive – the latest power management module by Endress makes it possible to use an engine’s full power without a loss of performance. This development is unique in its kind and generates up to 1kvA more power from the same engine.
All generator sets with a Duplex Plus generator come with Ecotronic- an environmentally friendly alternative to conventional generating sets. Ecotronic offers optimum fuel consumption with automatic idle control, driven by generator load demand.
Because the DIN standard is not applicable in all European countries, Endress offers other models for the fire and rescue industry with the same leading technology to ensure highest levels of safety, reliability and quality for rescue situations – made in Germany.
